Ạn|ion [↑ ana- (1) u. ↑ Ion] ein- oder mehrfach negativ geladenes Teilchen, das im elektr. Feld oder in einer Elektrolysezelle zum Pluspol (↑ Anode) wandert, z. B. Hydroxid-Ionen (OH‒), Acetat- u. a. Säurerest-Ionen (CH3—COO‒, Cl‒, SO24, PO34), Carbanionen, Radikal-Anionen.

das, -s/-en, negativ geladenes atomares Teilchen (Ion), das im freien Zustand bei Anlegen einer elektrischen Gleichspannung zur positiven Elektrode (Anode) wandert, z. B. bei Elektrolysen und in Gasentladungen. In Ionenkristallen sind Anionen zusammen mit Kationen chemisch gebunden.
